Jenna Talackova out of Miss Universe Canada for being transgender

As far as Miss Universe Canada is concerned, it seems the "Miss" part of the competition has to start at birth — particularly for ousted contestant Jenna Talackova, who was born male and who said she self-identified as female at age 4 and underwent gender reassignment surgery at 19.

Miley Cyrus: I'm not engaged to Liam Hemsworth, you big dopes

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are not engaged
What Miley Cyrus giveth, Miley Cyrus also taketh away. So if she gave anyone the impression last week that she and Liam Hemsworth were engaged, don't bother taking that tale to the bank.
The rumors started Thursday after she posted a picture focusing on her manicure — and mentioning nothing whatsoever about the big ol' rock sitting there on her engagement-ring finger.
"I'm not engaged," Cyrus said Monday on Twitter, returning to the scene of the gossip crime. "I've worn this same ring on this finger since November! People just wanna find something to tal [sic] about! It's a topaz people!"
Indeed, if one ignores the ring — which has a bit of a Cracker Jack box look to it, actually — the tweet with the picture last Thursday sounded pretty promotional, and not the least bit romantic. "I am soooo obsessed with @jennahipp nail foundations! It looks so chic and classic!"
Well, nothing said chic and classic quite like showing up Hemsworth's "The Hunger Games" premiere recently, practically bursting out of the top of her midriff-baring Emilio Pucci ensemble. That film may be PG-13, but, as we all know, the former "Hannah Montana" is very grown up these days

adonna launches 'MDNA' with a spree of personal appearances

Madonna goes on a promo spree for "MDMA"
Madonna is one busy modern woman: The heavily guarded pop queen gave herself up to the masses this weekend in support of the Monday release of her new record, "MDNA."
Kicking off on Saturday afternoon, Madge cruised through the offices of Facebook for a live chat moderated by a gushing Jimmy Fallon. Taking fan questions and teasing the late night host, Madonna didn't disappoint.
"People need to be more disciplined when they ask questions," she vamped with arched eyebrows as fans asked gems like what would she do if she were elected president in November.
"First of all, I'd take all the money from defense and put it in education ... gay marriage would be legal everywhere," she waxed, adding: "There would be no restrictions on any of my videos ever."
Indeed, a clip for her single "Girl Gone Wild" was deemed too hot for underage YouTube users, but in the days leading up to an album release, does that kind of attention detract from her latest roster of dance tracks?
Certainly not for the wild crowds at Miami's Ultra Music Festival, where Madonna decamped to after her Facebook stop. Introducing DJ Avicii, the Material Mom played to the audience with hype quotes on stage like, "I can honestly say a DJ saved my life."
She also posed the question, "Has anyone in this crowd seen Molly?," referring to slang for the popular club drug MDMA, a.k.a. ecstasy. Some folks aren't happy with the reference, but again -- does this hurt her chart chances?
Not with a massive groundswell from fans, including celebs such as Ashton Kutcher.
"I think MDNA taking over Fab.com for the day is pretty badass," Kutcher tweeted of the chic group-sale site in which he's an investor, which offered the album at a reduced price of $7.99 for its members.
Don't expect to see less of Madonna in the coming days, either. "MDMA" will get a worldwide tour in the coming months, and expect her new fragrance Truth or Dare at the top of April.

EVANS UNDERWENT IVF FOR BABY

FANTASTIC FOUR star IOAN GRUFFUDD has opened up about his attempts to start a family with wife ALICE EVANS, revealing the actress underwent an in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) procedure after failing to fall pregnant naturally.

The couple wed in 2007 and welcomed little Ella two years later (09), but Gruffudd admits they endured a tough time and needed specialist treatment.
He tells the Weekend magazine, "We'd wanted a baby for a while and after it didn't happen for us naturally we said, 'Let's take what science has to offer.' Luckily for us, it worked the first time so it wasn't a long, hard struggle.
"But that's just the beginning of the journey, then there's the whole other worry of, 'Are we going to get to 12 weeks?'. It was a long, anxious process and then Alice was on bed rest for the last eight weeks because of high blood pressure, which is quite serious."
And the labour was just as stressful for Evans.
Gruffudd adds, "She then went through a 48-hour labour. We went in on the Friday morning for an induction because of the high blood pressure and it got to the point where they were saying, 'We've got to move this along.' We tried to do it naturally but by the end, Alice was begging, "Oh, give me the b**ody drugs!". Ella finally arrived on Sunday morning at 3am and it was an incredible experience."
