'Dexter' star Julie Benz on getting mistaken for Christina Applegate, her admiration for Angelina Jolie

Actress Julie Benz was on-hand last week to present actress Christina Applegate with the coveted Norma Zarky Humanitarian Award at the 2012 Women In Film Crystal + Lucy Awards, and apparently the share more in common than a friendship and a profession.  

“My very first job in Los Angeles was on ‘Married With Children. We have known each other through the years,” Benz told FOX411’s Pop Tarts column at the star-studded event that sought to show support for women in the entertainment industry. “People actually think I am her a lot, and I take that as a great compliment. She has had such a long and great career.”

When you first heard about "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter," you probably thought it was a spoof. Alas, it's the real deal: the history/horror flick opens nationwide today.
"The way I see it, whatever else it is, it's a huge summer movie that is, for a change, not a sequel, a prequel, a reboot, a remake, based on a toy, a video game, or a board game," author, screenwriter and producer Seth Grahame-Smith told CBS. "And that's where I come in and make my case of, like, 'Hey, let's do something strange. Let's do something offbeat, a little daring. Let's get back to doing cool genre films.'"
