Turning 40 might seem like a sensible time to cover up but it looks as though women are more likely to show off their legs as they get older.

New research has shown ladies will carry on wearing miniskirts until they are 45 - and will go for a shorter hem than women in their late thirties.

The average skirt length for a woman aged 34 to 40 is 36cm, dropping one centimetre as they reach their mid 40's, the Debenhams study revealed.

The reality star-turned-author/designer stopped by Access Hollywood Live on Monday, where she dished on the status of her love life.

“Are you open to a relationship right now?” Billy Bush asked the star, who ended her three-year relationship with actor Kyle Howard last year.

“Um, like a committed relationship?” she joked. “I don’t know, I’m so busy right now.

“Honestly, I’m in a relationship with my novels,” Lauren, who was also previously linked to Brody Jenner and Derek Hough explained. “I’m always open, but I’m not really looking.”

Lauren, who said she’s “always” up for a date, explained that she likes to takes things slow with a new guy.

“I’m not really a person who kisses on a first date,” she said.

Lauren’s fourth novel in her “L.A. Candy” series, “The Fame Game,” is in stores now.

A judge gave actress Lindsay Lohan a fresh start two weeks ago by ending her supervised probation.

Los Angeles (CNN) -- A woman filed a battery complaint against Lindsay Lohan on Saturday, accusing the actress of shoving her at a West Hollywood nightclub two nights earlier, according to a Los Angeles County sheriff's official.
