If buzz is to be believed, Tabu was approached for Gulab Gang to play the role of a politician. But the character actor refused it. Any guess why? ‘Coz it wasn’t the lead role!
While Tabu vehemently denies this saying, “Reports of me wanting Madhuri’s role are baseless,” we couldn’t help reading between the lines when the Cheeni Kum actor added, “I was approached for the protagonist’s role many years ago. Because of lack of funds, the film never went on the floors. They may have tried to get in touch with me this time, but we haven’t had a fresh meeting.” Ahem ahem. Now does it mean that because the makers couldn’t get in touch with her, they cast Madhuri Dixit in the lead role?
Madhuri has been chosen to play the lead and there won’t be any changes in that, wethinks. But do you think Tabu, with her raw persona, would be better-suited for the role of the head of a female vigilante group? Do tell us, readers?
